How to Book a Facility

Overview
This guide will walk you through the complete process of booking a community facility on Book Community Centre. The booking process consists of three simple steps: selecting date and time, providing your details, and completing payment.
Before You Start
Before booking a facility, make sure you have:
- An account: You'll need to create a free account to complete bookings. You can browse facilities without an account, but booking requires registration.
- Your event details: Know the date, time, number of attendees, and purpose of your booking.
- Payment method: Have a credit or debit card ready for payment (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express).
Step 1: Find a Facility
Browse or Search
- From the homepage: Click "Explore" or "Browse Centers" to see all available community centers.
- Use search: Enter keywords like facility type (e.g., "hall", "meeting room") or location (e.g., "Dublin", "Cork") in the search bar.
- Apply filters: Use filters to narrow your search by:
- Location (city, county, or Eircode)
- Facility type (hall, meeting room, sports venue, etc.)
- Capacity requirements
- Amenities (Wi-Fi, parking, accessibility features)
Select a Facility

Click on a facility card to view its details page.

Review the facility information:
- Capacity: Maximum number of attendees
- Amenities: Available features (Wi-Fi, parking, kitchen, etc.)
- Pricing: Hourly or daily rates
- Description: Details about the facility
- Images: Photos of the facility

Click "Book Now" when you're ready to proceed.
Step 2: Select Date & Time
Choose Your Date
- The availability calendar will show available dates for the facility.
- Click on your preferred date. Dates that are fully booked will be disabled.
- Available dates are typically highlighted or marked clearly.
Select a Time Slot

After selecting a date, available time slots will appear below the calendar.

Time slots show:
- Start and end times (e.g., "10:00 - 12:00")
- Price for that time slot
- Member price (if you're a member of that center)
- Availability status

Click on your preferred time slot to select it.

Some facilities may have:
- Minimum booking duration (e.g., 2 hours minimum)
- Maximum booking duration (e.g., 8 hours maximum)
- Peak hour pricing (higher rates during popular times)
Review Your Selection
Before proceeding, verify:
- ✅ Correct date selected
- ✅ Correct time slot selected
- ✅ Price is acceptable
- ✅ Duration meets your needs
Click "Continue" or "Proceed to Details" to move to the next step.
Step 3: Provide Your Details
Booking Information
Fill out the required information:

- Enter the total number of people who will attend
- Must be within the facility's capacity limit
- Minimum: 1 person

Purpose of Booking
- Describe what you'll be using the facility for (e.g., "Community meeting", "Birthday party", "Yoga class")
- Required field (minimum 5 characters)
- Be specific but concise

- The center will review and confirm if they can accommodate

Provide contact details for the booking:

Step 4: Review & Payment
Review Your Booking
Carefully review all booking details:
- Facility: Name and location
- Date & Time: Selected date and time slot
- Duration: Length of booking
- Attendees: Number of attendees
- Purpose: Your stated purpose
- Contact Information: Your contact details
Pricing Breakdown
Review the pricing details:
- Base Price: Facility rate for the selected time slot
- Member Discount: If applicable (for center members)
- Tax: VAT (if applicable)
- Total: Final amount to be charged

For Members: You may see two options:
- Pay Now: Complete payment immediately
- Book Now, Pay Later: Reserve the slot and pay later (if enabled by the center)

For Non-Members: Only "Pay Now" option is available.
Complete Payment

Click "Complete Booking" or "Pay Now".

You'll be redirected to the secure payment page.

Enter your payment details:
- Card number
- Expiry date
- CVV/CVC code
- Cardholder name

After Booking

Accessing Your Booking

What Happens Next?
- If approval is required: The center will review your booking request. You'll receive an email notification when it's approved or rejected.
- If auto-approved: Your booking is confirmed immediately.
- Before your event: You may receive a reminder email 24 hours before your booking.

Booking Not Confirmed

- Log into your account and check "My Bookings".

Need to Modify Booking
